Get to know our first rover

PERUN Gen 1

Perun Gen 1 at the International Engineering Fair in Brno

Overview

PERUN 1 is the first big rover to roll out from our lab. It set the path we wanted to take and proved many concepts and mechanisms for future builds. It is an operator-controlled system with many abilities for competition challenges.

Robotic Arm

The robotic arm is the main way PERUN interacts with the environment. It uses belts, a mechanical wrist and stepper motors for actuation. It is a magnificent mechanism made of many materials, mainly 3D-printed parts from PETG and carbon-reinforced polymers.

Chassis

The fundamental element of the rover is its frame, which is assembled from aluminium profiles and 3D-printed components, ensuring a high degree of modifiability for the entire structure. It will carry a robotic arm and all the electrical hardware necessary to control the entire assembly. On its deck, modules for various parts of the competition, such as the science task module to analyse collected samples, can be easily swapped out.
